About Rachel
Rachel Verdick became the founder and sole proprietor of Verdick Residential Designs in the Spring of 2011.
Rachel's interest in architecture was stimulated in 1984 with her first visit to the Marble House: the summer "cottage" of Mr. and Mrs. William Vanderbilt. She has enjoyed touring homes and studying architecture since that time. After designing a second story addition to her own home, Rachel decided to exit her corporate management career in 2009 and pursued her dream by enrolling in the Architectural Design and Drafting program at Portland Community College where she completed her AAS in Architectural Design and Drafting with a residential focus in the winter of 2010. Immediately thereafter, she opened Verdick Residential Designs the following spring.
Rachel was born and raised in Oregon. She grew-up in Southwest Portland and attended Wilson High School. In 1994 she earned her B.A. in Sociology from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN and in 2001 she earned her MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Her life experiences living throughout the United States, Paris, France and Cape Town, South Africa provide her first-hand experiences which influence her understanding of the interaction between cultures, physical environment, architectural styles, and space usage.
Rachel has resided in Lake Oswego since 2001 with her husband Commander Jonathan Puskas and two Old English Sheepdogs, Boo Radley and Savannah. She enjoys travel, photography, and spending time with friends and family.
